fnnnnnngggg. My monitor on my mac broke. This is going to be so expensive to fix it's not even funny.

I like Apple's products, but I hate the fact that they're so high in cost. I suppose I could always try and find a monitor like the one that I already have but the model is.. like... circa 2003 and they're not in production anymore. Also, they're really hard to find on used goods sites. I was thinking that I could maybe take it in and just get the backlight replaced, but according to my mom 'they don't do that anymore'. Eh, I'm going to try anyways, it seems like the least expensive option :/

Mom was also suggesting just getting a Macbook now instead, but I want to save that for when I graduate.

Yesterday I was at the Vancouver Art Gallery with my APSA class for a one-day residency. This involved having to wake up at 4 AM to catch the early ferry. I ended up falling asleep on the floor of the art gallery for twenty minutes during a tour of one of the exhibits. At lunch we were walking downtown taking pictures of shit for a photo assingment, and then in the afternoon we had to paint our photos. I ended up doing a sculpted lion that was on one of the buildings around the gallery, but I forget which one it was.

YEP.

I don't know if I'm going to do 12 Days of Christmas this year. I'm not really feeling inspired for anything right now, to tell the truth. Perhaps if I do some original-character stories, then maybe... I'd kind of feel like a fantard writing stories about Akira and Hetalia.

A new karaoke place just opened close to my school. Today, me and Rachel (a friend of mine from AP Studio Art/Yearbook) decided to check it out after school.

SO MUCH FUN OH MY GOD. The sound system is EXCELLENT and they have so many songs it's unbelievable. They even had Too Shy, which was done by a very obscure (albeit awesome) band. This karaoke place is also ridiculously Asian - the logo includes Chinese characters - and as well as English songs, they have Chinese, Japanese, and Korean.

I sang a couple of Japanese songs that I knew. I'm pretty impressed I could read the characters that fast LOL. Rachel is Korean so she sung a zillion Korean pop/rap songs. I ended up Rickrolling her and singing along to Gay Bar by Electric Six. Yes. They even had Gay Bar.

After that we went to watch the Theatre Society's play, which was Fahrenheit 451! Excitement! The story and acting was increeeedible and apparently everybody really liked the art that I did (designs for the hound). GOOD JOB YOU GUYS!

I'm also very excited about possibly being able to direct the Theatre Society's play in the spring, and it will be Peter Shaffer's 'Black Comedy'. I saw the play in Vancouver and it was seriously the funniest thing I have ever seen. There are only two problems - there might not be enough cast members (I think there are eight total), and it's only a one-act play, and the society prefers there to be intermissions so they can give the audience juice and cookies. I approve of this.

So here's what I'm thinking... precede Black Comedy with Chekhov's 'The Marriage Proposal' and an intermission. This is what they did in Vancouver. Hilarity OH MY GOD.

Another thing is I was thinking of replacing the Sousa march at the beginning/end of Black Comedy with Genesis' song "Turn it on again". I think it sounds more contemporary..ish. It fits the subject material, and possibly the timeline, as the impression I got from the Vancouver show was that the play was taking place sometime in the 1970's. The only problem with this is I don't know if we'd be allowed to use copyrighted songs - after all, we are making profit from tickets to the shows. Hmmmm.

HMM. I ramble too much.

I really miss my six months in Vanuatu. It's hard to believe that it happened almost half a lifetime ago. 2002 wasn't that far back, was it? It must've been, because apparently, it's changed drastically. Alcohol, violence, automobiles.

Island of wonder, where are you going? Nobody knows it, but it is snowing

Himaruya needs to make a character for Vanuatu. If he doesn't, I will. >;/

WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON WITH TANNA?

She has been falling asleep at school in the mornings for almost a month now, even though she has been getting the perfectly normal amount of sleep the nights before.

People were tolerant of it at first but now they're starting to get angry. Can't blame them. I'm angry at myself too. I'm missing -important- classes and just encouraging my body that it's okay to rest at times when it isn't.

I seriously don't understand why this is happening. I've always woken up early automatically, usually at 5AM. Lately, on the weekends, I've been staying in bed until noon, even though I went to bed, at like, maybe 10 the previous night. My diet hasn't changed at all.

What I am noticing is that I'm getting irritated at the littlest things and will now openly vocalize my disapproval instead if smiling and bottling it up as per usual. On Halloween, a 9th grader wearing a really slutty costume walked down the hall and I politely said to her, "Oh, you must be dressed as a prostitute!" It just pisses me off how naive little fourteen-year-olds think they can use halloween as an excuse to showcase their flabby, prepubescent bodies to any boys who would or wouldn't retch at the sight of the girls' leg fat spilling over lacy thigh-high stockings.

RRRRgh.

I'm also getting irritated at people I love. They'll just ask the simplest of questions or act the way they always have and I just feel like a volcano and will probably implode if I don't scream at something.

Ha ha ha ha. Maybe I'm pregnant.

AAAUGH OH MY GOD WHY I TORTURE MYSELF.

Apart from needles and angry dogs, Cold War-era civil defense warning stuff is my biggest fear. So tonight I was curious and searched for some stuff about it on youtube. Conquer the fear and all that.

I won't be sleeping tonight.

I miss Hannah and I miss Tuscany and I miss Timothy the frog and I even miss dying of heatstroke for 90% percent of the time we were there and I miss the broken Roman elevator and I miss the elevator kissing song and I miss the Freeky Fries and I miss wearing my red dress without being cold and I miss Oberto's insane driving and I miss Hannah flailing like an epileptic in the middle of the night and I miss exploring foreign cities on our own.

The Ben Folds Five song "Where's Summer B?" would be quite appropriate right about now.

Tomorrow is costume day at my school and I AM SO EXCITED.

I'm wearing a brown/gold Rococoey dress, complete with feathery rose head ornament thing! Words cannot describe how much I can't wait for tomorrow to come. Thing is, I can't actually wear it on Halloween, because it's my mom's costume and I wanted to borrow it *laughs*. So what I'm thinking is I'll wear my British top hat/London shirt/carry around a British flag and use my Underground bag for candy. I made Toad wear that costume three years ago and I've kind of wanted to wear it since.

Yeah.

Also, Hannah, I hate you for making Hetalia one of my guilty pleasures. Hate. I probably wouldn't feel so bad if the animation didn't suck and the fandom wasn't so huge, stupid and starving for homoerotic country shenanigans. But the concept is just too damn cool [Though this comes from a person who thinks anthromorphizing EVERYTHING is cool... look at my train characters for god sakes LOL]. So what I'm thinking is maybe cosplaying as Belarus for Kei-kon... I refuse to call in Tsukino Con. It will always be Kei-kon in my heart. Ah, anyways. Maybe I'll cosplay as Belarus because, while being kind of a pseudo-fan of the series, I want to do something nerdy, and as far as I know she's the only freakin' anime character I've ever come across that I won't have to change my hair/racial appearance for, lmao

Plus I could practice my sewing skills. I think doing her dress would be a lot of fun.

Plus I get to carry around a knife with me everywhere YAY.

(taken from Himaruya's blog: http://himaruya.blog61.fc2.com/ )

If Hannah comes to Canada in time for the con she said she might go as Russia. Which would be cool.

I just realized how much of my twelve-year old self has been returning to me. I am obsessed with all things British and am excited about doing a cosplay. I feel slightly self-conscious about it. :/

Yaaay Patch Together is working! Please vote for Loppi's design 'Vincent', as he looks like he could be an awesome figure: http://www.patchtogether.com/designs/designs/view/id/2166

Yesterday's Japanese class was funny. Sometimes in class we play this game where people write down different parts of a story, and then the class leader (Inchoo) reads them out.

To avoid confusion, Joe is the Inchoo and he was reading. The story translated to:

1. Last week

2. In Joe's dream

3. His neighbours

4. And a bunch of children

5. Got into a bathtub.

6. It was tasty.

The class, all eight of us, couldn't stop laughing.

My parts of the story, if all put together, would read:

1. Last month

2. In a lightbulb shop

3. Kanedaaaaaaaaa

4. and Mina (another student in the class)

5. Ate pencils.

6. It was fun, but everybody caught AIDS.

Height of wit and maturity, our class.

And I have the flu. Hopefully it's not swine flu... bawww.

Loppi recently made a journal on dA about 'Patch Together', a site where popular drawings, as voted by the users, get turned into figurines.

This is SO AWESOME. I'm really excited for Loppi to submit her character designs [I am totally pressuring her to submit a design sheet for Hermes], and... well, I have no 3D skills myself and I just think it would be so cool to have someone render your style in three dimensions.

My favourite design on PT right now is this. Judging by the number of people that voted on it, I think it's going to get turned into a figure. I'm seriously considering buying one. I have no interest in the sparkledog genre, but I do appreciate good satire and the expression is just TOO MUCH, especially from the side view. *lolling*

If I submit some designs, they might be Rococoey. I want to do a lady in 18th-century underwear. Title: PAGE THREE GIRL OF 1767.

[I just learned what the Page Three Girls are. Seriously... porn in a newspaper?]
